Black Trans Short Film Competition

We’re excited to announce our Black Trans Short Film Competition, application open!

Janet Mock’s quote inspires the theme of this year’s competition:

“We are who we’ve always said we are. We are worthy. We are real. We are here.”

Black Trans stories are necessary, life-affirming, and culture-shifting. We’re committed to supporting more Black Trans filmmakers to bring Black Trans stories to life on screen.

This competition is for any Black Trans, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex (TGNCI*) folks who want to tell a story through film. Beginner and first-time filmmaker submissions are encouraged! Black Trans storytellers from across the diaspora are encouraged to apply.

We are so excited to see your work!
