Land, Body, Story

Land

We believe in a land based strategy for freedom and collective healing. Black TGNCI* people deserve to access this Earth and all of its abundant resources.

We invest in creating more infrastructure, physical safety, and access for Black TGNCI* people on this planet. Our films honor and acknowledge the stories and life force of each place that we engage.

Check out our 2021 short film Witness - an experimental short film providing a fresh take and afro-futuristic approach to land based storytelling, gender freedom, community archive creation, and time travel.

Check out our 2020 short film, NuMas(k)ulinities - an immersive exploration utilizing embodiment to unlearn patriarchal habits and engage a masculinity rooted in Black Feminism and Trans Liberation praxis.

Body

We believe in embodied freedom - a freedom that makes a home out of the bodies of Black TGNCI* people. We partner with embodiment and somatic coaches and therapists as an essential component of each film we create. We practice including and engaging the bodies of Black TGNCI* folks in and throughout our creative work.

We honor and love the power and wisdom that lives in all bodies regardless of size, shape, ability, or skin tone. We invest in Black TGNCI* people’s right to access embodiment practice spaces and our right to live full and present lives - in our bodies.

Story

We believe that each person is an expert of their own life experience. As such, we believe there is profound wisdom in personal storytelling and archiving the daily lives of Black TGNCI* people in our community.

We have been creating and curating media content that makes clear the importance of Black Trans and Gender Non-Conforming people in our society. Among our robust body of work is an archive of over 190 hours of Black TGNCI* film/footage, 17 impact short films by Black TGNCI* creators made to primarily center a Black TGNCI* audience, and a 19 part street style interview series called On Being Black and Trans in the South. We see our work as not just creators but keepers of a culture that has been under attack for centuries.
